Let us show our gratitude to Allah, the Almighty, because until now we are still given the opportunity to get the pleasure of being in good health.

Ladies and Gentlemen, visitors to IM Telkom sites,

On 2 September 2010, I received the reins of responsibility to lead this institution as Rector.Together with the vice-rectors and the entire management of IM Telkom, I will do my best to conduct the transformation ​​IM Telkom has been making and will develop IM Telkom into a leading educational institution. The work program for the first two years will focus on improving the quality, particularly on strengthening and enhancing the quality of human resources, facilities, and business processes. In the following year we will focus on the capacity, which is increasing the number and quality of the intake for the sustainability of the institution and the development of new study programs. Last but not least, we will focus on financial aspects, the diversification of income sources through the utilization of more 'prestigious' internal resources. To implement all these programs we will try to build good cooperation among all of IM Telkom academic community by means of enhancing the implementation of the programs to pave the way of IM Telkom to become a World Class University.

Ladies and Gentlemen,

Ideally, higher education serves as an institution that builds the linkage between college life and workplace. University graduates will, in turn, hold the "responsibility" of providing value added to the company. Furthermore, university graduates are required to be able to increase the value added of the company through optimal use of company's internal resources and by providing feedback for the betterment of the company.

IM Telkom is an institution of higher education that has a goal of creating Sarjana (bachelors) and Masters in the field of business management who are highly competitive in the business area, particularly in the telecommunications industry and the whole industry in general. Quality of inputs, quality and quantity of lecturers, assessment system, teaching materials, quality of facility and infrastructure as well as cooperation with leading educational institutions and industries are also among those maximized by IM Telkom in order to produce qualified graduates.

In its efforts to produce graduates who have confidence, effective communication skills, practical knowledge, leadership, courage and ethics, business knowledge, language skills, literacy in computer and internet, also the ability to compete armed with reliable quality, IM Telkom has developed a learning method with an equal composition between knowledge and life skills.

This is indicated by the increase of opportunity for individual presentations and practical business simulations. Integrity and professionalism as the core of education also create a conditioned scientific atmosphere hence students will be ready to apply the knowledge they gain in the future world of employment, both nationally and globally.

In addition, IM Telkom also encourages student activities. This is intended as a means of creating positive mental attitude among the students so that they can be the pillars of the nation with characteristics of being independent, creative and able to participate in the effort of empowering the Indonesian economy.

Ladies and Gentlemen,

Today there has been a shift in the perception about education. Bureaucratic institutions sometimes ignore the quality of teaching and learning and of interaction between lecturers and students. Obviously, education is the key to a better future, and therefore education should really bring about the spirit of education. Prof. Frans Mardi Hartanto, Ir., PhD, at the Workshop on Telkom IT Governance Improvement through GUG Program mentioned  that education is a continuous process of students’ character building. In order to achieve success, one needs to have strong power, fighting spirit and high work ethic. The fighting spirit can make it easier for someone to adapt to any social environments and changes at work. Contemporary education needs to be clearly directed at preparing students to be able to face the challenges of the future.

To all of you who have been involved in IM Telkom's internal environment: the management, faculty, staff and students, we would like to show you my highest appreciation for the cooperation and constructive support and also to PT Telkom and Yayasan Pendidikan Telkom as the founder of this institution, who have so far been committed to developing IM Telkom. I’d also like to thank everyone  who has been directly and indirectly involved in this graduation activities.

Finally, let us all to reinforce our good intent and affirm our determination to continue striving to provide the best education for the children of the nation. May Allah bless our efforts and give us the power and strength in achieving our dreams. Amen.
